Untitled
This oil painting of the "Duck House" in The Oaks Park in Portland, Maine. It was painted "Plein air" (entirely on location). I wanted to capture the nature and character of the building by creating a deep sense of space. The oak tree identifies the area and creates a foreground, middle ground, and background. The building is unique with the tower on the right side. It was rather windy on the days the painting was executed. I captured the sense of movement the wind made through the trees.
