This is a pastel painting of two young boxers sparring. They are preparing for upcoming fights. I am drawn to boxing because of the color, personalities, and opportunities to draw and paint the figures in action.
I am greatly influenced by Degas' paintings of ballerinas and horses and jockeys. I am fascinated by the hard work and preparation that goes into a sport like boxing.
