This is a pastel painting of Kettle Cove in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. This is the first of a series of two paintings of this location. I painted both pictures "Plein Air." The painting was done completely on location. This is always a challenge because the light and atmosphere is always changing. However, there is nothing like being able to capture the beautiful Maine light firsthand.

This painting creates a beautiful sense of peace and quiet because of the soft Maine light. The painting is in a private collection.
