Fog Horn House
This is the Fog Horn House in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. It warns the ships to protect them from impending disaster during storms. This house was painted by Winslow Homer on at least one occasion. I chose an overcast day in late summer. It is ambiguous where the sky meets the sea. The house stands strong and immovable despite storms. It is a refuge in times of danger. I want the painting to invoke a sense of dependability and security for the viewer.
